Synopsis 10th Annual Report – October 1920

Captain Hewson appointed as DC.
District Scout Master for Rover Scout Section appointed.
Award of Gilt Cross for gallantry to N V Howard 7th and Silver Wolf to DC, Colonel Leslie.
Telegraph Cup (Trophy) instituted with Cup presented by the paper.
Scouts entered “Sunday News“ toys competition.
Scoutcraft Exhibition in Central Secondary School. Items from displays chosen for inclusion in the first World Jamboree at Windsor in August. 476 members attended Jamboree camping at Lords Cricket Ground. Prizes won by a number of items including 2 Scouts from 11th became World Scout Boxing champions. Scouts from Jamaica and South Africa hosted before and after event.
Ladies sewing circle making and selling uniforms.
Scout Employment Bureau inaugurated.

Wentworth Scout Association formed – 6 troops and 2 packs moved to the new district.
SLABS AGM held in the Town Hall.

Synopsis 12th Annual Report – October 1922

Albert Harland appointed as DC.
Application for County status rejected by Headquarters.
Move to new Headquarters at 84 West Street on 9.5 years lease. HQ and Equipment Departments (Scout Shop) formally opened on March 25th under charge of W.R. Revill. Items stocked for Girl Guiding sections.
AGM held in the Cutlers Hall.
Scout Huts opened at 16th 35th and 46th. The former by the Bishop of Sheffield
Gallantry awards presented to PL L. SIngleton and PL J. Padley of 85th and 46th troops respectively.
Western Division camp at Derwent.
Training Camp at Norton Park recognised by Imperial Headquarters held at Norton Park under Wood Badge Scheme.
Statuette presented to SLABS by A. Harland as memento of his visit to Canada. (Probably The Wild Boy statue displayed in the Harland Room.)

Synopsis 13th Annual Report – October 1923

Party of 150 Sheffield Scout attended as part of the “Posse of Welcome” at a rally Alexander Palace for the Prince of Wales. Sheffield provided Fire Brigade and Ambulance displays. Later Scouts lined part of route of visit to the City by the Prince.
A team of 10 Scouts, accompanied by others, competed for and won the Scouts' International Shield for Swimming in Antwerp.
A party of Scouts visited the new International Scout Chalet in Kandersteg.
First edition of Sheffield Scout magazine “Woodsmoke” published.
New Bye Laws sanctioned by HQ recognising the formation of Divisions with functional responsibilities. Dinner held for the new Commissioners attended by C. Dymoke Green from HQ.
Matinee in aid of Sheffield Scouts Prince of Wales Fund at Hippodrome. 35th band played.
Scouts acted as orderlies and The Yorkshire Show.

Synopsis 14th Annual Report – September 1924

4 Day Scout Fair and Exhibition at Cutler's Hall raised £730.
HQ moved to 33 Holly Street.
Duke of York visit Sheffield. Flag presented by the Duke for competition by Scouts of Yorkshire won by 26th.
Sheffield contingent of 350 at Wembley International Jamboree. After Wembley an International Jamboree held in Copenhagen attended by 40 Sheffield Scouts. Scouts from Natal and New South Wales visited Sheffield.
First Sheffield St. George's Day Parade held at Cathedral.
Mr Dalby resigned as Organising Secretary. Mr. Cunningham covering the position
Silver Medal for Gallantry awarded to Scout Ashton of 84th Troop.

HQ moved from Holly Street to the Central Telephone Exchange due to building of Sheffield City Hall.
Mr Muirhead appointed as Organising Secretary.
Training Scheme developed with the formation of a Training Pack and Troop.
Party of Rovers attended the Great Rover Moot in London.
Sheffield BBC broadcasting station arranged for scouting broadcasts to be made each month. Camp Fire singsong broadcast in October.
Scouts marched to the Civic War Memorial after the November Church Parade to lay memorial wreath.

With permission from the owners, Vickers, the grounds of Whitley Woof Hall used for camping by Outs and for use by the Training Pack and Troop.Appeal launched for purchase of a camping ground for SLABS.
First School based Troop formed at King Edward VIII School.
Sheffield University Scout Club formed.
Cub Conference addressed by Chief Commissioner for Wolf Cubs.

Synopsis 18th Annual Report – October 1928

36 acre Campsite in Ashop Valley obtained from Derwent Valley Water Board on 10 year lease.Chief Scout attended rally at Wakefield.
1500 Sheffield Scouts and Cubs attended.
Chief also attend Scout's Own at Doncaster Race Course following day.
Southern District held Scout Week. Highlights included Scouts Own at Abbeydale Cinema and Camp Fire at Woodseats Aerodrome.
Opening of 171st hut at Tinsley.

Synopsis 19th Annual Report – October 1929

International Jamboree at Arrow Park. 50 Sheffield Scouts attended. Western Division hand bell ringers performed at Camp Fires. 11th Troop performed a “Comic Skirkus” twice in main arena. Additional West Riding Camp held on the Wirral for 600 Sheffield members including 150 Cubs. Scouts from Australia, Germany, Estonia, British Guiana and Jamaica visited Sheffield with the latter two staying for a week. A wide and varied programme of events arranged. Camp Fire for visitors and public held in Graves Park
AGM at Montgomery Hall. Two Scout films “Tenderfoot Tim” and “Cub Courageous” shown.
Gilt Cross awarded to Second P. Justice 147th
Use of Ashopton camping ground increased. Rover Camp support Crew formed called Grimbo Carr Crew.
Cub St. Georges’ Day Parade moved to St Pauls Church.

Sir Arthur Pickford visited West Riding. Entertained by Master Cutler. Explained HQ Development Scheme to group of leading citizens.
1929 Jamboree film shown at Victoria Hall. Hall packed and hundreds turned away.
Cripple Scout group formed linked to King Edward VII Hospital.
Joint Parade with Boys Brigade in connection with Students Missionary Crusade
Publication of “Woodsmoke” taken over by Rovers and changes made to the publication.
Grimbocar campsite improved with new hut and camping terraces.
